Prudential Georgia Realty Dominated the NAR Open House Weekend in Metro Atlanta!

The National Association of Realtors sponsored a Nationwide Open House Weekend on Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th. Prudential Georgia Realty participated by holding open houses at over six hundred properties in the metro Atlanta area. That’s over 45% of all the open house held in the Atlanta area that weekend!

The event provided perhaps the largest two day opportunity for homes listed for sale to be seen by potential buyers. According to Prudential Georgia Realty, early feedback indicates that it was a big success, with an average of five buyers viewing each property and several contracts written over the weekend.

As part of Prudential Georgia Realty, Petersen Partners held five open houses over the course of the weekend.  It was a great opportunity to introduce our award winning team to buyers and to showcase a few of our great listings currently available for sale in the South Cobb area.

Three Apple iPad 3s were given away to buyers visiting metro Atlanta open houses by Prudential Georgia Realty. Congratulations go to Gabriel Gil, Debra Luther, and Chris Anderson. There will be three more opportunities for home buyers to win an Apple iPad 3 over the course of this summer. Right now, of course, is a great time to be buying a home. For more information on available homes, upcoming open houses, and how you can win an Apple iPad 3, check out the Petersen Partners Facebook page.

Next week, Petersen Partners will be giving away tickets to enjoy a front row table for four at the upcoming Randall Bramblett Band’s concert hosted by the Mable House. You can enter to win by visiting https://www.facebook.com/PetersenPartners. It’s easy to enter- just “Like” our page. The winner will be announced next week!

Smyrna Fresh Produce and Farmer’s Markets are Now Open

Now that spring is officially here, some wonderful farmer’s markets are setting up shop and welcoming visitors from all around Smyrna. One of my personal favorites is FARM (short for the Farmers Atlanta Road Market), located at St. Benedicts Episcopal Church at the intersection of Atlanta Road and the East West Connector. The actual street address is 2160 Cooper Lake Road in Smyrna.

The unique thing about FARM is that it operates on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 7PM. It’s an open air market featuring locally grown and produced food items. FARM was started four years ago by the parishioners of St. Benedict’s with the simple mission of connecting the area’s best farmers and food producers with the people of Smyrna, Vinings, and the whole of Cobb County. Along with delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables, FARM is a great collection of friendly food growers who are happy to let you sample some of their amazing salsas or cheeses and offer recipe suggestions. Vendors also often offer a variety of items like all-natural soaps and lotions. FARM is also right next to Oakdale Park, so it can make for a fun afternoon outing with your whole family.

If you just can’t make it to FARM on Tuesdays or prefer making a farmer’s market part of your weekend routine, try the Smyrna Produce Market every Saturday starting May 5th. It’s located at the First Baptist Church parking lot adjacent to the Smyrna Market Village. The actual address is 1275 Church Street SE in Smyrna. It’s a great market that has grown in popularity every year since opening four years ago. The market opens at 8am and runs until noon, but remember to come early- the best produce goes quickly!

Keep Smyrna Beautiful is currently accepting application for prospective vendors and musicians interested in performing family-friendly music during the market. Producers of organic and naturally grown produce are given precedence and the produce or items sold at the market must be grown by the seller. Those interested in participating should contact Ann Kirk at akirk@smyrnaga.gov or call 770-431-2863.

FHA will keep funding flips

FHA will keep funding flips | Inman News

The FHA will extend its temporary waiver on its anti-flipping rule.  This will basically allow investors who are flipping homes to sell to buyers using a FHA insurned financing product within the 90 period that the home was originally purchased.
